Appointment as KfW Consultant for Special Initiative on Training and Jobs Creation in Ghana
GP Business Consulting, represented by its Managing Director, Mr. Nicholas Frimpong-Manso, was appointed as the KfW Focal Point for the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation (SI Jobs) for Ghana. In this role, he is supporting KfW in the preparation and implementation of a grant scheme to support investments in Ghana with a significant employment impact. He is the main counterpart of KfW in Ghana for potential public and private beneficiaries, members of the German Development Cooperation including the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Investing for Employment (IFE) GmbH and all relevant stakeholders. KfW carries out its activities in collaboration with GIZ under the German Development Cooperation.
The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) established the Special Initiative on Training and Jobs to create long-term, full time jobs, offer quality-based training and education and to improve working conditions in partner countries.
IFE is a limited liability company under German Law and was founded by KfW in 2019 to execute said grant scheme under the SI Jobs Initiative via competitive selection processes for grantees in 7 African countries: Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal, and Tunisia. The IFE awards co-financing grants ranging from €1 million to €10 million per project through a competitive application process under four project categories: public infrastructure for job creation; common service for job creation; for-profit projects with broader job creation impact; and for-profit projects for job creation.
